Woman hit by car seriously hurt

A 21-year-old woman is in a critical condition after she was hit by a car in Manchester in the early hours.

The woman was struck by a black Renault Clio on Wilmslow Road, near to the junction with Wilbraham Road in Fallowfield at about 0200 BST.

Police called to the scene found the woman had suffered serious head injuries and she was taken to hospital.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the road policing unit at West Didsbury police station.
