Man held for pensioner sex attack

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a pensioner in park in Stockport.

The 71-year-old woman suffered a broken collar bone when she was thrown to the ground during the attack in Bruntwood Park, Cheadle Hulme, on Friday.

Police said the victim noticed a man by a tree and walked past him. He then attacked her from behind and sexually assaulted her before running off.

The man under arrest remains in custody for questioning.
